Welcome to Cherokee Heights!

Our school celebrates and encourages entire families to become involved in their children’s education. Exciting academic challenges inspire the whole school and every student to engage in learning. Our dedicated staff supports and encourages every student to achieve success. Cherokee is also proud of its partnership with local businesses, such as Travelers and Ecolab - providing art and theatre experiences including Taiko drumming, spoken word, and hip hop dancing.

Now Offering Montessori

Ballroom Dancing at Cherokee

Students in Ms. Beese's 5th grade class are learning to navigate the foxtrot and other ballroom dancing styles, thanks to generous sponsorships from our community partners, Travelers and Ecolab. The class is taught twice a week by Bonnie Inveen from Heart of Dance and will run until spring break.

Parent Involvement Day

Big thanks to the many parents and family members who were able to join us for National African American Parent Involvement Day! From the pancake breakfast to parent visits to classrooms, our building was full of activity. Special thanks to our wonderful Parent Coordinator, Shirley Andino, for planning such a fun and engaging day.

5th Graders Take Drumming Class

Students in Mr. Blat's class recently completed a taiko drumming class through Mu Daiko Performing Arts, sponsored by Ecolab. Taeko is an ancient Japanese form of percussion that incorporates a dynamic playing style.
