Students producing our live daily news show.
Gifted Services provides a variety of experiences for all of the students at Cherokee Heights.  Students will participate in activities such as Enrichment Cluster Classes, Multicultural Arts Fair, Science Fair, Cherokee University Day, Destination Imagination, Artists in Residence, Showcase Celebrations, Mixed Blood productions, speakers, assemblies, and field trips as part of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model.  Cherokee students will also spend time in our Production Studio.  The studio is available to classrooms to create integrated, thematic productions based on content being studied in class.

An important part of schoolwide enrichment at Cherokee is our daily news broadcast (CNN - Cherokee News Network).  All classes start their day by watching a live newscast produced by Cherokee students!  The show is educational and aims to strengthen our sense of school community with national and local news, school announcements, and frequent guest appearances by staff & students.  This fall, fifth and sixth grade students applied and auditioned for permanent positions on the CNN crew.  These students are responsible for all studio operations, performing jobs such as floor director, studio director, camera person, technology director, video controller, audio director, newscaster and meteorologist.  Congratulations to all of our 2008-2009 crew members!
