Hello! My name is Sharon Hendrix and I am the proud new principal of Cherokee Heights Elementary.  For the past 18 years I've been a classroom teacher in grades 5 and 6 at Highwood Hills Elementary, and in September of 2007, I transitioned to Cherokee Heights as the building principal.

I'm excited to be at Cherokee because I live in the community on the West side, and I get to work with a dedicated staff that is committed to providing the best education for each child.

I received my two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Elementary Education and English Literature from Bethel University, my Masters of Education

My family at the Grand Canyon
from the University of Minnesota, and my Administrative License from Hamline University.

Some of my favorite things to do are:  going on vacation with my family (husband-Mark, son-Connor age 15, daughter-Hannah age 11), bike riding, photography, reading, baking, discovering new ways to help students learn, and hanging out with my scrapbooking friends.

I have high goals and expectations for myself, staff, and students at Cherokee Heights Elementary.  I am always available by email (Sharon.Hendrix@spps.org) or phone 651-293-8610, if anyone has any questions or concerns about Cherokee Heights, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Sharon Hendrix
